E. Warren Davis

Eric Davis began his professional career at Westinghouse Headquarters in Orlando, FL., and served as the Central Florida President of the Alumni Chapter of the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE).
Following his professional success in Virginia and Florida, Davis returned to Columbia, South Carolina in pursuit of his entrepreneurial interests as a Design Engineer and consultant.

He is the President and founder of E.D. Legacy, LLC, Legacy Films, Irly Bird Kids (IBK), and Compass Animation Studios. He is an international author who has written over 30 books. A conglomerate that includes his educational company that focuses on “edutainment”, utilizing song, dance, music and live entertainment to teach difficult topics like S.T.E.M., social-emotional learning and safety issues. IBK established educational contracts with Richland County School Districts One and Two to provide live stage shows and experiential learning. IBK also visited Sumter County, South Carolina, and Gwinnett County, Georgia.

Irly Bird Kids was selected as a national book series by the Ministry of Education in Jamaica

Recognized for his S.T.E.M. work with children in 2019, Davis was honored with the Lower Richland Alumni-in-Action Award, American Association of Blacks in Energy Award. In addition, Davis’ Irly Bird Kids’ Charitable Foundation received special recognition from Dominion Energy, a corporate sponsor of Davis’ Live S.T.E.M. education shows helping inner city youth.

In December, he launched the National S.A.V.E. (Students Advocating Vital Engagements) organization and drafted the J.A.Y.SON (Just As Your SON) Resolution, addressing police and community reform, ratified by the National Black Caucus of State Legislators.

Davis was also nominated for the “Activist of the Year” during the 2020 N.A.A.C.P. National Image Awards. 

In February 2020, marking the 30th anniversary of his student leadership advocacy at S.C. State, which led to the only Nuclear Engineering Program at an H.B.C.U. in the nation, Davis was recognized with a Senate Resolution from the Senate General Assembly.

In 2020, E.D. Legacy Films released
Negative Exposure, a movie filmed entirely in Columbia, South Carolina. In addition to writing the story, Eric Davis served as Executive Producer and acted in Negative Exposure, which was nominated as Best Screenplay by the International Christian Film & Music Festival. In 2022, Davis again found himself as Executive producer, and actor. Landing a leading role in the new film, The Lady Makers, alongside award-winning actress Jasmine Guy and a cadre of other talented actors. Davis solidified his future in the film industry.
