In February 2020, marking the 30th anniversary of his student leadership advocacy at S.C. State, which led to the only Nuclear Engineering Program at an H.B.C.U. in the nation, Davis was recognized with a Senate Resolution. In December, he launched the National S.A.V.E. (Students Advocating Vital Engagements) organization and drafted the J.A.Y.SON (Just As Your SON) Resolution, addressing police and community reform, ratified by the National Black Caucus of State Legislators. Davis was also nominated for the Activist of the Year; during the 2020 N.A.A.C.P. National Image Awards.
